Welcome to the Early Years at Our International School in Peru
During the Early Years at Colegio Peruano Británico, our youngest learners become immersed in our vibrant international school setting in Lima, Peru. With our outstanding teachers, learning experiences, and school facilities, they discover from the very beginning of their learning journey that they will have everything they need for success.
Learning Centres
At Colegio Peruano Británico, our Early Years learning centres are specialised spaces for fun projects and activities that develop our young students’ different capabilities – working across all areas of learning.
When our teachers create the projects, we start from the interests and needs of each age group, considering the different ways in which each child expresses their learning processes. We create a diversity of experiences that stimulate the senses alongside curiosity, critical thinking skills, and a sense of responsibility or autonomy.
English Immersion
We know our youngest learners from the age of 3 are the most receptive to getting immersed in a new language, which why they learn English through games and playful activities. As a result, our students learn English in a natural way, in everyday interactions and in all learning.
Using Our Bodies
We guide our young students in discovering their ‘psychomotor area’, which means developing their coordination and motor skills through their bodies, as they gain an understanding of their body image and how it’s structured. Through structured ‘free play’ in small groups, we stimulate our young students’ different movement areas that strengthen their autonomy, body control, and emotional regulation.
We also teach body care, as well as the importance of good eating habits. As our students gain greater understanding of their bodies, they learn to apply their skills in our organised workshops on the martial arts, body expression, contemporary dance, and music.
Social and Emotional Development
We guide our young students in their social and emotional growth, encouraging their strengths. We work collaboratively with our teachers and parents to maintain the well-being of all our students by providing guidance, training, personal meetings and interviews, and specialised talks on parenting and important moments in the Early Years stage.
